Drinking fountain in Hamburg

Supported by robots, it takes shape layer by layer - the additive manufactured drinking fountain can now be used by humans and animals in Hamburg.

The prototype was developed by the Berlin agency IONDESIGN. “Mecklenburger Metallguss GmbH, (...) produced the prototype for Hamburg and did an excellent job," says Anja Götz, designer at the agency, about the collaboration.

We at MMG can also only rate the collaboration positively. The unique shape of the drinking fountain offers a variety of possibilities for barrier-free and animal-friendly use of the drinking fountain. In addition, the drinking fountain was recognized by the international design award FOCUS OPEN 2023. It is thus evident that HAMBURG WASSER and IONDESIGN are pioneers when it comes to the diversity of drinking water supply in public spaces. The product is thus very contemporary and shows prospects for the future.
