SMM 2026 – Four days of maritime exchange

From 1 to 4 September 2026, the maritime industry came together in Hamburg for SMM. MMG was there too, and we look back on four intensive and successful days filled with interesting conversations, new contacts and valuable exchanges.

Ahead of the exhibition, a propeller manufactured by MMG for our customer KMTC was installed on the SMM exhibition grounds. A familiar sight at SMM – and a visible piece of MMG right in the heart of Hamburg.

Over the four days, we had numerous interesting conversations and welcomed many familiar faces as well as new contacts at our stand. Among our visitors were representatives from MSC, MOL, CMA and TT-Line, a ProColombia delegation, Jochen Schulte, State Secretary of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, as well as representatives from the German Shipbuilding and Ocean Industries Association (VSM) and the Maritime Affairs Department of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs. Another special moment was the signing of a contract with TT-Line.

Our latest technologies and solutions were at the centre of our presence at the exhibition. Under the theme “Preswirl – Propeller Interaction – Hydrodynamic Design”, we presented our approach to the interaction between propeller and rudder, as well as solutions including espro, espro silent, propeller redesign and additive manufacturing. We were also pleased to welcome numerous students, young professionals and other visitors interested in learning more about MMG and our technologies.

Our stand party on the evening of 3 September provided a great opportunity to round off the day in a more relaxed atmosphere. We were delighted to welcome so many guests and enjoyed the conversations and positive feedback.
